The money laundering charges against Tigran Gambaryan, an official at Binance Holdings Limited, was dropped by the Federal Government on Wednesday.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has filed $35 million in money laundering accusations against Binance, Gambaryan, its U.S. head of financial crime compliance, and Nadeem Anjarwalla, the exchange’s British-Kenyan regional manager for Africa.
Initially, both Gambaryan and Anjarwalla were held at the National Security Adviser’s office.
Anjarwalla, however, fled lawful custody on March 22, 2024, while his counterpart, Gambaryan, was arraigned in April.
Following his arraignment, the court ordered his remand to Kuje Correctional Facility.
