The Supreme Court is the apex court in Nigeria. It has the power of finality. Under the Constitution of Nigeria, no appeal shall lie from the Supreme Court of Nigeria to any other court after the judgement of the Supreme Court.

Furthermore, the Supreme Court judgment is binding on all lower courts in Nigeria. The inferior courts cannot depart from the binding decision of the Supreme Court on a matter of similar principle.
