The Federal High Court in Abuja has granted permission to former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Adoke to travel to the United Arab Emirate for medical check-up.
Ruling on Adoke’s application for permission to travel to the UAE, Justice Inyang Ekwo rejected the objection raised by lawyer to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission ( EFCC), Bala Sanga granting the former AGF’s application as argued by his legal representative.
The judge ordered the release of Adoke’s passport to enable him to travel to UAE on health grounds from December 15 and return on or before January 10, 2021, a day before the scheduled resumption of trial in the money laundering charge involving him and a businessman, Aliyu Abubakar.
Justice Ekwo however ordered Adoke to return the international passport to the court within two days of his return from the trip.
He thereafter adjourned the matter until Jan. 11 for trial continuation.
The former AGF is currently facing multiple charges, including money laundering, before various courts which had ordered the seizure of his passport as a bail condition.
